How To Style Graphic Stripes SS16

For Spring/Summer 16, we all saw a variety of bold and graphic stripes grace the catwalks at Fashion Week. As seen on Gucci, Roberto Cavalli and Versace runways, this look is definitely a bold statement from the usual subtle stripes we have seen in the past. As a lover of everything striped when it come's to my own wardrobe, I couldn't resist putting together a few looks with this bright and brave concept. Here I have sourced all my items from Farfetch, something a little different from my usual high street posts, and although these items are a long way from my normal price range - a girl can dream can't she!?

Here is the first look I have put together, I have centred this look around this statement MSGM stripe knit top. I loved the bold colours in this top, after all that is everything that this SS16 trend is about. I went with more of a boy meets girl look for this and paired it with some Akris high waisted wide leg trousers and this beautiful 3.1 Phillip Lim layered bomber jacket, because the top speaks for itself I thought it went best with a few darker colours. I bought back a pop of the royal blue with these Bally slip on sneakers, I think this will make the colours in the top stand out even more by carrying it on into the footwear. Last but not least this adorable little Fendi light bulb back pack, which I put in firstly because I just absolutely love it and secondly I felt the pink within bag actually links in with the pink within the top. A co-ordinated but varied outfit in my opinion!

Here is the second look I came up with when styling graphic stripes. I actually paired together a sort of co-ord within this out of two separate items. The first item I chose were these amazing Salvatore Ferragamo striped wide leg trousers, I just loved the colour palette within these and wanted to base my whole look around that. I then came across this cross strap top, again from MSGM, and actually thought it paired really well with the trousers, a sort of mix between a co-ordinate and a clashing of prints. A really interesting combination I thought. As these two together make such a statement I went for all an all black colour scheme with the jacket, bag and the footwear. This cold shoulder Vera Wang blazer totally caught my eye when browsing the website  - such a perfect jacket for spring/summer! I then went with a Givenchy classic backpack and fringed brogues. I really loved this look I came up with and it is definitely something I would wear myself if I had the budget!

So, this sum's up my two spring/summer looks when styling the newest graphic stripes trend!

The Striped Jumpsuit

This jumpsuit is the complete combination of everything I am loving recently... stripes, culottes and jumpsuits. Throw all three together and this is what you get.
Trying on this New Look jumpsuit is actually what made me fall in love with culottes, before that I didn't think they would suit me but after trying this on I was officially converted. It's such a comfy one piece that I think is great because this cant be worn either with a pair of heels on a night out, or a casual warm day like I have styled it here. Although shooting this was a bit of nightmare as it was so so windy - these trousers don't look their best whilst flapping in the wind! But that's the way it goes.
I also got this bomber jacket from New Look at the same time, as you know I had been after a bomber forEVER and I just fell in love with this colour as it goes with absolutely everything.
Last but not least, if you are a blogger I am sure you have seen these shoes pop up before...
The Yinka Creepers from Public Desire are a total must have in my opinion. I popped these on my nude trainers wishlist and when I saw they were doing 25% student discount, this was my sign, and I am so glad I did because not only are they the comfiest shoes and they go with absolutely everything.

All in all I loved wearing this outfit and all the items within it will definitely be well worn in the next few months!

Spring Wedding Style: Him And Her

The wedding season is fast approaching, as we enter spring the is weather getting warmer and the evenings are getting longer. Many people will now be in the midst of deciding what that outfit is going to be for the wedding they are attending this spring or summer... it's a tricky decision you have to make where you definitely can't throw on any old thing as we all know weddings are the day that anyone and everyone has a camera out so you want to feel great for those memorable snaps! Here I have put together a look for him and a look for her for a bit of inspiration on what you could wear when attending a wedding as a couple...

First up is my men's look for the day, here I have picked out all my favourite pieces from T.M. Lewin... When it comes to men's suits, my personal favourite has always been navy. It is such a versatile and timeless colour as well as being suitable for a variety of occasions so you can get lots of wear out of your purchase. Here I have picked out the Soho Navy Blue Skinny Fit Suit, it has to be skinny fit for me - I think this fit is perfect for a wedding as it's smart and sophisticated. I also added in a waistcoat to my look as I think this is a great little addition to bring the whole look and colour scheme together. I paired this with a skinny tie in burgundy, I think navy and burgundy will always be such a great colour combination so this had to be my first choice.
Lastly I finished the look off with a classic pair of tan brogues - something you really can't go wrong with. Of course you could wear a darker pair of shoes with this look if you wanted to, but I just love the mix of colours that bring everything together in this outfit. I actually found my inspiration images after I had put together my look, as I wanted to bring this look to life and I managed to find the perfect image of what I had in my head in the bottom right image. This is a look that I think could suit a variety of men, I wanted to keep it classic but with a bit of a modern and stylish twist.

Here I have put together what I think would be the perfect women's look for a spring wedding. As soon as I saw this dress I fell in love with it, everything about it from the colour to the detailed embroidery is just gorgeous - it's definitely a dress that you could wear again and again so it would be worth investing in something like this! As the dress is so eye catching and detailed I wanted to keep everything else very simple. I went for some subtle barely there nude heels along with a blush nude clutch, as well as a pale cream blazer as spring can still be a little chilly! Obviously it is the number one rule not to wear white to a wedding, no one wants to out shine the bride, but I think this cream blazer you can get away with paired with the deep lilac dress. I also added in a gorgeous printed Olivia Burton watch, which seemed to sum up the look of the whole outfit!

I think when going to a wedding as a couple you don't really need to co-ordinate your outfits, it's not as if it's the school prom... so these are two quite separate looks but two that can quite easily pair up together with no clashing colours or prints!

What do you think of both these looks?

3 Ways To Wear Flared Jeans: Part 3

The last and final way to style up this pair of denim flares. Here I went with more of a 70's style look, with a cream boho blouse and platform boots. This blouse was another sale purchase a few months back that I actually haven't had a chance to wear yet - it's definitely a summer top so I am excited to whack this out when the weather gets warmer. I love the bell sleeves on this as well. I also added this little back pack that I bought from a charity shop for £5! (Have I mentioned how much I love charity shops!?) which I love - it would be the perfect festival bag!

My ASOS Sale Picks

If your the sort of person that checks online stores about 3 times a week for new things coming in, then I'm sure you have seen that ASOS have launched a new sale full of some amazing bargains! After I had a browse I thought I would share my favourites...
I find putting together these posts extremely hard when I know I shouldn't be spending anything - the fact that it's a sale and everything is cheaper makes in ten times harder! Must. Resist.
Spend some money for me!

Animal Colourblock

I have always loved an animal print, so when I saw this block printed jumper in Topshop I couldn't resist. I loved the mix of the grey and navy that gave it a sporty feel but contrasted with the animal print... and plus I just love these sweatshirt jumpers for spring time.
I paired this with some classic ripped jamie jeans. Usually I would probably of put a jumper like this with a pair of trainers... but I was trying my hardest to branch out of this comfort zone I have so I put this with a pair of Public Desire buckle up boots.
Maybe a bit of a mix match outfit but there we go!
